В Ишимской степи в условиях богарного земледелия отмечается изменение гидрологического состояния почв и грунтов зоны аэрации в сторону повышения их влажности в течение 1960-2000-х гг. Главной причиной выявленной динамики выступает обусловленный хозяйственной деятельностью подъем уровня грунтовых вод. В многолетней динамике гидрологического состояния почв и подпочвенных толщ пород Ишимской степи при подъеме грунтовых вод выделено три этапа и дана их характеристика. Многолетнее повышение уровня грунтовых вод привело к смене водного режима плакорных почв Ишимской степи и к смене принадлежности этих почв к ряду увлажнения. Наиболее значимыми почвенно- экологическими следствиями многолетней динамики гидрологического состояния почв Ишимской степи при подъеме грунтовых вод выступают увеличение запасов доступной растениям влаги при снижении пористости аэрации в нижних горизонтах почв и более мягкий, по сравнению с исходно автоморфными почвами, температурный режим их нижних горизонтов. В результате антропогенного переувлажнения в исходно автоморфных почвах Ишимской степи впервые в истории их развития созданы условия для формирования гидроморфности.
