La conception assistée par ordinateur (CAO) apparaît plus que jamais comme un processus complexe unissant différentes activités de natures différentes : modélisation géométrique, synthèse, analyse, simulation, calcul, fabrication, etc. Un système de CAO doit permettre non seulement la création d’une quantité considérable d’objets (surface, volume, maillage, cotation, tolérance, effort, ...), mais aussi la gestion des liens entre ces objets. Ces relations entre les objets peuvent se présenter sous forme de contraintes géométriques, technologiques, économiques ou même administratives. Le modèle des données de tel système doit donc pouvoir gérer l’évolution de ces objets et la propagation des contraintes et supporter les éventuels changements des paramètres de conception. De plus en plus, l’intégration des différents outils de CAO, Calcul et simulation s’avère nécessaire. Cet ouvrage présente une contribution originale à l'intégration des aspects CAO et Calcul_simulation en se basant sur des maquettes numériques développées à base d'exemples en vu de montrer la généralisation des concepts proposés à un contexte industriel.
