Ce livre retrace l’évolution de « l’Anglicanisme » depuis ses origines au départ de l’Angleterre et les différentes péripéties qu’il a traversées pour devenir aujourd’hui une Eglise internationale et universelle,particulièrement de son introduction en République Démocratique du Congo, au départ d’Ouganda.L’Eglise fut introduite au Congo Belge, par le catéchiste Apolo Kivebulaya qui en fut la figure de proue. Dans sa première partie, ce livre relate la vie et les œuvres missionnaires admirables et héroïques d’évangélisation et sociale d’Apolo et ses compagnons, de 1896 a 1933, l’année de la mort d’Apolo Kivebulaya.Ce livre parle aussi succinctement de l'Eglise anglicane en Ouganda, au Burundi et au Rwanda et présente en outre la situation géographique et politique de la RDCongo avec tous ses changements politiques qu'a connu le Pays ainsi que des guerres intermittentes qui ont tous influencé d'une manière ou d'autre, la vie de l’Église et de la contribution des Sociétés missionnaires,des Eglises étrangères et des partenaires au développement de l’Eglise Anglicane du Congo, sans oublier les visites des Archevêques de Cantorbéry, Chef Spirituel de l’Eglise Anglicane mondiale.
