Christoph Drechsler étudie le processus de décision d'investissement environnemental dans l'entreprise à partir d'une analyse de seize 'décisions majeures' engagées dans différents secteurs industriels. Dans un domaine caracterisé par sa richesse mais peu exploré, l'auteur propose un travail très sérieux et approfondi et d'un positionnement original car il peut emprunter aussi bien aux approches qualitatives que qualitatives, et donc présenter un apport intéressant et novateur dans ce domaine. Sur la base de son modèle de recherche et des choix méthodologiques faits, Christoph Drechsler analyse, d'une manière approfondie, trois études de cas d'entreprises industrielles gérant des sites classés Seveso. Ensuite, l'auteur propose une remontée théorique sur le processus de décision d'investissement environnemental, sur la base des phases d'avant-projet, de réalisation industrielle, de mise au point et d'apres-projet, et sur la base de l'ensemble des seize 'décisions majeures' engagées. Enfin, dans la conclusion générale de cet ouvrage, Christoph Drechsler fournit des interprétations et des pistes de recherche intéressantes sur ces processus de décision finalement peu explorés.
