Dans cet essai nous comparons, relativement aux thèmes du métissage et de l’hybridité qui lui serait consubstantielle, les enjeux respectivement développés par les écrivains de la diaspora africaine, la critique sociolittéraire qui les concerne et les sociologues. Les première et deuxième parties de notre essai, qui traitent respectivement de l’expression des théories sociologiques relatives au métissage dans les romans postcoloniaux et des discours émis dans les textes sociologiques mêmes, rendent compte du mouvement de va-et-vient existant entre textes fictionnels et textes sociologiques. La troisième partie montre comment la Créolité, tour à tour représentée par des œuvres théoriques et fictionnelles, débouche sur une nouvelle configuration des modèles identitaires de la figure du métis. Ainsi, notre approche qui dessine les contours des problématiques de l’identité métisse qui se construit dans l’articulation des champs du littéraire, de la psychosociologie et de l’anthropologie s’adresse à l’ensemble des spécialistes de ces diverses disciplines et, au-delà, au lectorat curieux de ces savoirs et des nouvelles connaissances intellectuelles ouvertes par leur croisement.
