La microfinance - la fourniture de services financiers aux personnes à faible revenu - est considérée comme un outil essentiel pour faciliter l'inclusion financière et renforcer la résilience à long terme face à des difficultés imprévues pour les individus, les ménages et les microentreprises vulnérables. Ainsi, la microfinance est devenue un dispositif à la mode sur les marchés du crédit en tant qu'instrument efficace de réduction de la pauvreté et de développement socioéconomique. Cependant, son impact reste remis en question et varie d'une région à l'autre et d'une ville à l'autre. Le but de cet ouvrage est d'analyser le rôle de la microfinance camerounaise dans la lutte contre la pauvreté. La recherche entreprise tente de mesurer l'efficacité du système de microcrédit mis en place par les principales institutions de microfinance établies dans la partie septentrionale du pays, en évaluant l'impact des prêts de microcrédit sur la situation individuelle de l'emprunteur, du ménage, et de la microentreprise. En outre, l'étude examine les déterminants des problèmes de remboursement des prêts chez les emprunteurs des grandes microfinances qui fonctionnent en réseaux.
