Die vorliegende Arbeit geht es um die Rezeption des chinesischen Denkens in der deutschen Philosophie und um die spätere Wirkung dieser Rezeption bei den ostasiatischen Philosophen. Es wird die deutsche Interpretation des chinesischen Denkens von Leibniz bis Jaspers, sowie die im zwanzigsten Jahrhundert entstandene Gegenseitigkeit zwischen den östlichen Denkern und dieser Interpretation analysiert. Der Kern dieser Arbeit ist die Beziehung zwischen der deutschen und chinesischen Philosophie. Die Einbeziehung anderer ostasiatischer Denker, vor allem japanischer und koreanischer Gelehrter, wird hier als Erweiterung der chinesisch-deutschen Beziehung betrachtet, da diese Beziehung auch von ihnen analysiert wird. Der Anfang des Gespräches zwischen chinesischer und deutscher Philosophie steht eng in Verbindung mit der deutschen Rezeption des chinesischen Denkens vor allem bei Leibniz, Hegel und Heidegger.
