Die vorhandenen Verfahren zur Bestimmung der zerebralen Perfusion aufgrund der Bildgebung wurden bisher auf Patientenkollektiven oder Phantomen validiert. Patientenkollektive bergen den Nachteil einer hohen Variabilität, während bisherige Phantome den Gehirnfluss unzureichend modellieren. Aus diesen Gründen mangelt es an einem eindeutigen Goldstandard. Die genutzten mathematischen Modelle basieren durchweg auf Annahmen und Approximationen, die ebenso validiert wurden. In diesem Buch wird erstmals ein MRT-taugliches Perfusionsphantom vorgestellt, welches in strömungstechnischer Hinsicht den Verhältnissen im Gehirn ähnlich ist und eine von der Bildgebung völlig unabhängige Flussmessung als Goldstandard zulässt. Das beschriebene Perfusionsphantom wurde anhand diverser Messungen validiert. Der zweite Aspekt dieser Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Validierung verschiedener Software-Systeme zur Perfusionsmessung anhand des bekannten Goldstandards. Ein dritter Abschnitt beschreibt die Nutzung des Perfusionsphantoms zur Validierung eigener Algorithmen und mathematischer Modelle. Das mit diesem Perfusionsphantom erstellte Bildmaterial steht für Forschungszwecke zum freien Download bereit.
