Description

Einstellbare Ein-Atom-Kontakte können mit Hilfe von Bruch-Kontakten hergestellt werden. Bruch-Kontakte bestehen aus einer metallischen Leiterbahn, welche auf ein Substrat gedampft wird. Diese Leiterbahn besitzt lokal eine unterätzte Verengung, welche eine freitragende Brücke bildet. Durch Biegen des Substrats, kann der unterätzte Teil der Leiterbahn so gedehnt werden, daß ein aus einzelnen Atomen bestehender Kontakt, eingestellt werden kann. Die hier präsentierte Forschungsarbeit ist in zwei Teile gegliedert. In einem ersten Abschnitt wurden einfache Bruch-Kontakte auf Bronze Substraten bei sehr tiefen Temperaturen untersucht. Durch die Messung multipler Andreev-Reflexionen kommen wir zu dem Schluss, daß Aluminium-Kontakte, im Gegensatz zu Gold-Kontakten, keine längeren Ketten als Dimere bilden. Im zweiten Abschnitt der Arbeit wurden Strukturen untersucht, welche aus einem oder zwei Bruch-Kontakten auf 340 nm dicken Siliziummembranen bestehen. Diese Strukturen bilden Nano-Elektro-Mechanische Systeme oder NEMS genannt, welche mittels integrierbarer Technologie hergestellt werden.
