From the Back Cover Die Integration von Organisationen, d.h. das Wissen um deren "richtige" Zusammenführung zu einem neuen Ganzen, zählt zu den zentralen Fähigkeiten von Organisationen bzw. von deren Management. In der betrieblichen Praxis führen Integrationen allerdings oft nicht zum erwarteten Erfolg. Michael Schuster vertritt die These, dass eine wesentliche Ursache des fehlenden Erfolgs ein mangelndes Verständnis für das eigentliche Problem der Integration und die damit verbundenen Herausforderungen ist. Um das Phänomen Integration zu verstehen und deskriptiv zu erfassen, verwendet er einen regelorientierten Zugang zu Organisationen: Integration bedeutet demnach die Zusammenführung der verschiedenen Regelwerke der betroffenen Organisationen. Entscheidendes Erfolgsmerkmal von Integration ist in dieser Sichtweise dann das Maß der Kohärenz, also die innere und äußere Stimmigkeit dieser Regelwerke. Auf dieser Basis formuliert der Autor Implikationen für die praktische Gestaltung von Integrationsprozessen. About the Author Dr. Michael Schuster promovierte bei Prof. Dr. Max J. Ringlstetter am Lehrstuhl für Allgemeine Betriebswirtschaftslehre, Organisation und Personal, der Katholischen Universität Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. Heute ist er bei Siemens als Projektleiter im Bereich Mergers & Acquisitions tätig.
