Schott SOLO CONCERTO

Paul Hindemith's work has encyclopedic trains: he considered all musical genres from the beginning and realized some of his musical thoughts and projects not in individual, completed work, but in work cycles and functionally differently bound music, which stand out from each other and only complement each other under the aspect of the overall work. Paul Hindemith himself has not only desired a complete edition of his works, but also projected: he received a detailed list of unprinted pieces for a possible total edition. All complete works in all available versions are included in the complete edition. Drafts and fragments of works are published in the appendix of the corresponding volume, sketches evaluated in the Critical Report, and in the Band Editor's Introduction. Each volume contains the foreword of the editors of the complete edition, Kurt von Fischer and Ludwig Finscher, an introduction by the band editor who informs about the history of creation and effect, makes authentic details on performance practice, and discusses obtained recordings of the works by Paul Hindemith himself, as well as the Critical Report. The Hindemith Complete Edition is a critical, scientifically based edition that at the same time takes into account the needs of musical practice. It will also provide a new basis for Hindemith research through the numerous first publications of works by Paul Hindemith and provide new, philologically secured material to the musical practice.
