Der Reichenauer Klosterplan fur St. Gallen setzte zukunftsweisende Massstabe. Im Bereich der Kunste sind unter anderem Einflusse aus Oberitalien greifbar. Die Reichenauer Prachthandschriften galten in vielen Teilen Europas als liturgische Kostbarkeiten.
