Hydraulisehe Antriebe werden auf samtliehen Gebieten des Masehinenbaues in besonders raseh zunehmendem MaGe verwendet. Es wurde deshalb in allen Zweigen der Industrie immer wieder die Forderung naeh einer Einfiihrung in das Arbeitsgebiet der ()lhydraulik erhoben, in der aIle Probleme behandelt werden, die bei der Ausriistung neuer Masehinen mit hydraulisehen Antrieben auftreten. Eine solehe Einfiihrung lege ieh hiermit vor. Das Bueh gibt Entwieklungs ingenieuren, Konstrukteuren, Betriebsleitern und Fertigungsingenieuren in erster Linie einen Uberbliek iiber die heute verfiigbaren Normbauteile der ()lhydraulik sowie iiber die wiehtigsten Anwendungsmogliehkeiten der Hydraulik auf den versehiedenen Gebieten des Masehinenbaues. Dariiber hinaus werden die Fragen behandelt, die sieh ergeben, wenn eine Entseheidung fiir oder gegen die Einfiihrung eines hydraulisehen Antriebes getroffen werden muG, - wie ZweekmaBigkeit und Wirtsehaftliehkeit hydrauliseher Antriebe im Vergleich mit elektrischen, mechanischen und pneumatisehen Antrieben, besonders charakteristische Eigen schaften, die fiir und wider die Losung bestimmter Aufgaben durch hydraulische Antriebe sprechen, usw. AuBerdem werden die fiir die Gestaltung olhydraulischer Antriebe wichtigen Gesetze der Hydrostatik, Hydrodynamik und Thermodynamik zusammengefaBt. Auch die nicht stationaren Stromungs-und Schwingungsvorgange, insbesondere die sogenannten DruckstoBe, die in hydraulischen Antrieben oft betrachtliche Schwierigkeiten verursachen, und die sonst in der Stromungslehre so oft ver nachlassigten Gesetze liber die nicht stationare Stromung werden anschaulich und mit einfaehen mathematischen Mitteln behandelt.
