Unsere bisherigen Methoden geben aber innerhalb des groBen Ensembles immer nur iiber Einzelfunktionen Auskunft, die wir als Indikator fiir viele oder aIle Funktionen ansehen. Auch bei Beriicksichtigung aller Verdienste der modernen Zellforschung und Molekularbiologie scheint es gefiihrlich, einmal an einer Zellart oder Population gewonnene Teilergebnisse auf die Gesamtheit aller existierenden Zellen zu iibertragen. Die Zelle als kybernetisches System kann auch bei regelrechter Funktion der Einzelteile ohne die notwendigen Informations- und Riickkopplungsvorgiinge nicht auskommen. Diese aber sind fast noch nicht erforscht und in den einzelnen Zellen sicher auch in Varianten vorhanden. Eine Darstellung der Dysfunktionen der "ZELLE" erscheint also bei der Komplexitiit aller Ereignisse und der vielfach fehlenden Kenntnis der Funktion ein ziemlich zweifelhaftes Unternehmen, das von der Idealvorstellung von vorn herein noch weit entfernt bleiben muB. Wir konnen also nur versuchen, unseren heutigen Kenntnisstand aufzu zeichnen und auf die moglichen Entwicklungstendenzen der Forschung hinzu weisen. Dabei miissen besonders die quantitativen Veriinderungen in der Zelle beriicksichtigt werden, da z. B. auch der exakteste Hinweis darauf, daB aIle Funktionen und Funktionsabliiufe einer Mitochondriengruppe regelrecht ablaufen, nicht geniigt, wenn wir nicht gleichzeitig wissen, ob ihre Gesamtmenge auch innerhalb der Normen liegt.
