Masterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2017 im Fachbereich BWL - Investition und Finanzierung, , Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Das Ziel der Masterthesis besteht darin, die beiden internationalen Rechnungslegungsstandards IAS 39 und IFRS 9 ausführlich zu beleuchten, bereits erkennbare Herausforderungen zu identifizieren und Gemeinsamkeiten sowie Unterschiede darzustellen. Im ersten Kapitel werden das Ziel der Thesis definiert abgegrenzt und die Vorgehensweise und Methoden vorgestellt, die zur Erreichung des Ziels eingesetzt wurden. In den folgenden Kapiteln wird die Definition des Begriffes „Finanzinstrument" vorgenommen und die Bilanzierung von Finanzinstrumenten nach deutschem Handelsrecht betrachtet. Der anschließende Teil dieser Thesis mit weiteren Kapiteln umfasst die ausführliche Darstellung und kritische Würdigung des IAS 39, des IASB-Einführungsprojekts und des IFRS 9. In diesem Teil der Thesis werden erste Herausforderungen, die sich bereits vor dem Inkrafttreten des Standards ergeben, auf-gezählt. Folgend zeigen zwei Illustrationen auf, dass sowohl Unterschiede als auch Gemeinsamkeiten zwischen den beiden Standards bestehen. In einem abschließenden Fazit werden die Ergebnisse der Thesis reflektiert und ein Ausblick auf die Zukunft und mögliche Synergieeffekte durch die Einführung des IFRS 9 gegeben.
