Diplomarbeit aus dem Jahr 1992 im Fachbereich Pädagogik - Erwachsenenbildung, Note: sehr gut, Universität Lüneburg (Erziehungswissenschaften), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Mit der vorliegenden Arbeit wird der Versuch unternommen, eine für den Praktiker der Pädagogik im Strafvollzug umsetzbare Konzeption des Schriftspracherwerbs mit Insassen zu erstellen. Zu Beginn seiner vierjährigen Tätigkeit als Kursleiter in Vollzeit-Alphabetisierungskursen im Strafvollzug wurde dem Autor klar, dass Bildungsangebote in deutschen Strafanstalten oft noch ohne theoretisches Fundament und teilweise ohne Orientierung an der Praxis der Arbeit mit funktionalen Analphabeten in Volkshochschulen durchgeführt wurden und werden. Während im Arbeitsbereich des Deutschen Volkshochschulverbandes seit ca. 30 Jahren eigene, erwachsenengerechte Wege zur Bewältigung des funktionalen Analphabetismus gesucht wurden, stieß der Autor im Strafvollzug auf eine Praxis, die sich ohne wissenschaftliche Orientierung an der Erwachsenenbildung oft auf eine Adaption von Methoden und Medien der Grundschulpädagogik beschränkte. Hier wird Unterricht von Lehrern aus Regelschulen mit deren Mitteln erteilt, Lernbedürfnisse und Fähigkeiten erwachsener Lerner bleiben oft unberücksichtigt und werden nicht ernstgenommen. So werden Szenen des Lernversagens, die vor allem jüngere Gefangene noch deutlich vor Augen haben, wieder neu inszeniert. Das Inseldasein von Anstaltsschulen ist besonders erschreckend, wenn man erfährt, dass unsere Strafanstalten geradezu ein Sammelbecken von Analphabeten darstellen. Wehrens schätzt die Zahl der Vollanalphabeten im Erwachsenenvollzug auf 3%, die der funktionalen Analphabeten auf 10-15%, im Jugendstrafvollzug gar auf 25-30% der Gefangenen ( vergl.Wehrens 1981, S.85 ). Obwohl das Strafvollzugsgesetz ausdrücklich einen Unterricht für Strafgefangen fordert, die des Schreibens und Lesens nicht mächtig sind, werden Kurse, die zum Hauptschul- oder Realschulabschluss führen, von den Anstaltsleitu
