Nach DIN 60001 sind Polyesterfasem synthetische Fasern aus linearen Hochpolymeren, die durch Veresterung von aromatischen Dicarbonsauren mit Glycolen entstanden sind. Zur Information iiber die Entwicklung auf dem Gebiet der Polyester, ihre Herstellung, Eigenschaften und Fabrikatbezeichnungen sei auf die Faserstoff-Tabellen von P. -A. KOCH (Ausgabe November 1967) [1] verwiesen. Daselbst findet sich auch ein umfang reicher Schrifttumsnachweis. Neben den normalen Polyestertypen aus Athylenglykol und Terephtalsaure (Formel I) [z. B. Diolen, Trevira, Terylene u. a. ] haben unter den Namen Kodel und Vestan solche aus 1,4-Bis-(hydroxymethyl-)cyclohexan (Formel III) Bedeutung erlangt. 1m Fabrikat vycron (USA) ist die Terephtalsaure teilweise durch Isophtalsaure ersetzt (Formel II). Die Schweizer Grilene-Faser ist eine Copolyatheresterfaser, die unter Mitverwendung von p-Oxybenzoesaure gebildet ist (Formel IV). Zur Erreichung einer besseren Anfarbbar- I -O-CH2-CH2-0-CJ~C-l [ II ""'=/ II o 0 n PES-Normaltyp COOH II /\ Isophtalsaure ~)-COOH III Kodel, Vestan -O-CH2-/ H>-CH2-0-CJ~-C-l [ ""'- II "'-=-/ II o 0 n IV -O-CH2J~C-O-CH:O-CH2-0-C~~-C-l [ ""'_/ II II "-,d II o 0 0 n Gruppierung in der Copolyatheresterfaser Grilene COOH V )~ 5-Sul£oisophtalsaure HoasA/""'cOOH Pol ycarbonat 5 keit mit basischen Farbstoffen sind bei der zu den Normaltypen gehorenden Faser Dacron 64 wenige Prozent einer in 5-Stellung sulfonierten Isophtalsaure (Formel V) einpolymerisiert. Die Polycarbonate, die als Kunststoff unter clem Namen Makrolon bereits langere Zeit bekannt sind, befinden sich als Faserstoffe noch im Entwicklungsstadium. Als Kohlen saureester des 4,4-dioxydiphenyl-2,2-propans (Formel VI) gehoren sie ihrer chemischen Natur nach zu den Polyesterfasern und sollen daher auch in dieser Arbeit mit behandelt werden.
