1.1 Verfahren zur Untersuchung des Diffusionsverhaltens Die Untersuchung des Diffusionsverhaltens eines Systems "niedermolekula rer Stoff - hochmolekulare Substanz" stutzt sich im wesentlichen auf drei Verfahren: 1. Die Messung der Durchlassigkeit von Polymerfolien fur den betreffen den Stoff (Permeationsmessung), 2. die Messung der Aufnahme oder Abgabe eines Stoffes durch das Polymere in Abhangigkeit von der Zeit (Sorptions- und Desorptionsmessung), 3. die Messung des Konzentrationsgradienten zu verschiedenen Zeiten. Die beiden ersten Verfahren sind vor allem geeignet, wenn die 10slichkeit des niedermolekularen Stoffes unter den gewahlten Versuchsbedingungen klein ist. Das dritte Verfahren ist je nach der Wahl der Apparatur uber den ganzen Konzentrationsbereich oder vorzugsweise fur 10sungen mittlerer Konzentrationen und fur verdunnte 10sungen geeignet. In dieser Arbeit wird das Diffusionsverhalten des Systems Polystyrol - Toluol mittels der Sorptions- und Desorptionsmethode untersucht. 1.2 Moglichkeiten des Diffusionsverhaltens Bezuglich des Diffusionsverhaltens von Gasen und Dampfen in Hochpolyme ren sind prinzipiell drei FaIle denkbar: 1. Der Diffusionskoeffizient (Dfk.) ist konstant. In diesem Fall wachst bei einem Sorptionsexperiment die relativ aufgenommene Menge an Lo sungsmittel (1M) linear mit V"t, solange im Zentrum der Folie noch keine Konzentrationsanderung erfolgt. Bei der Desorption wachst die relativ abgegebene Menge ebenfalls linear mit ~ (~ -Beziehung). Die Steigungen der Sorptions- und Desorptionskurven sind gleich groB. Sorptionskurve und Desorptionskurve fallen zusammen. Aus ihrer Stei gung laBt sich der Dfk. ermitteln.
