Эта книга посвящена изучению связи между коммуникативными установками и возникающими чувствами молодоженов по отношению к родителям своего брачного партнера и обратные чувства. В данной книге описаны и проанализированы доминирующие чувства, испытываемые членами молодой семьи по отношению к родителям своего мужа/жены и чувства родителей к брачному партнеру своего ребенка, в зависимости от существующей установки. Еще одним интересным фактором для изучения, помимо коммуникативной установки, выступило условие проживания "зарождающейся семьи" (совместное проживание с родителями одного из супругов - расширенная семья; или отдельное проживание, в своем собственном жилье - нуклеарная семья) и возникающие чувства между молодоженами по отношению к родителям своего супруга и обратные чувства. В ходе исследования было опрошено 90 членов нуклеарных и 90 членов расширенных семей.
