Employment Law addresses the issue of unequal economic strengths in the contract of Employer-Employee; the employer desire to pay as little as possible and extract as much as possible man-hour, on the other hand, the employees desire and crave for the maximum pay but only willing to concede or render as little work as possible - yet the two parties must cooperate and work together in order to achieve the much needed industrial peace and harmony which is a sine qua non to political social and economic progress of the society as a whole. Hitherto, the employer held all the aces in the employment relationship and that accounts for the popular saying that the employer has the “power of hire and fire” but strictly speaking, that position has changed drastically in view of declaration and global recognition of universal human rights.
