En Córdoba, «ciudad frontera» atravesada por firmes tradiciones e innovadoras fuerzas, tal como la caracterizó certeramente José Aricó, el 17 de Octubre adquirió características particulares como resultado de un distintivo proceso histórico, que comenzó a gestarse a fines de la década de 1920 y que cristalizó hacia 1935 en la concepción política de Amadeo Sabattini, la cual se caracterizó por una fuerte persistencia del pensamiento yrigoyenista. Luego de las jornadas de octubre, dicho proceso histórico se extendió hasta 1955, período que se distinguió por una pérdida de la autonomía del gobierno provincial con respecto a las políticas implementadas desde el Poder Ejecutivo Nacional, así como por una intensificación del proceso económico iniciado a mediados de la década del treinta. Sin embargo, el 17 de octubre de 1945 no constituyó una ruptura en el devenir histórico de Córdoba en el plano político, sino más bien un punto de inflexión que permitió a esta provincia sentar las bases de un proceso que la llevaría a marcar la historia del país.
