Ich vergleiche das mit der Internetblase." - Frank Rutten, Geschäftsführer der Niederländischen Ehrendivision, prophezeit den Klubs im Magazin Der Spiegel (2010) eine düstere Zukunft. Die Erkenntnis, dass eine hohe Finanzkraft einen positiven Einfluss auf den sportlichen Erfolg hat (Lehmann und Weigand, 1997), hat im Profifußball dazu geführt, dass sich Vereine immer häufiger verschulden oder externe Investoren an sich binden (Roy, 2009). um die steigenden Transfersummen, Handgelder und Spielergehälter finanzieren zu können. Durch den hohen Finanzbedarf wächst gleichzeitig die Abhängigkeit von den Stakeholdern (Augustin, 2008), bei denen die Sponsoren eine der wichtigsten Einnahmequellen darstellen (siehe u.a. Kapitel 2.3 "Einnahme-Mix von Fußballvereinen"). Die Folge dieser Entwicklung ist nicht nur ein immer höherer Nettoverlust der Profifußballvereine, die sportliche und finanzielle Unausgeglichenheit in den Ligen führt gleichzeitig zu einer verminderten Wettbewerbsintensität in den Ligen und bedroht die wirtschaftliche Stabilität vieler Vereine. Der europäische Fußballverband (UEFA) will dieser Entwicklung mit dem Financial Fair Play (FFP) entgegentreten, das mit Sanktionen droht, falls die Vereine die Regularien des FFP verletzen. Das Hauptanliegen des FFP ist es, das wirtschaftliche Gleichgewicht in den europäischen Wettbewerben zu verbessern und eine langfristige Stabilität sicherzustellen (UEFA, 2012a). In den existierenden wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten zum FFP liegt der Fokus meist auf den resultierenden Veränderungen aus der Sicht der Vereine, das heißt auf Auswirkungen hinsichtlich der Chancengleichheit bei Regulierung (Sass, 2012; Drut und Raballand, 2010; Késenne und Szymanski, 2004), Vor- oder Nachteilen in der Re
