Fachbuch aus dem Jahr 2013 im Fachbereich Medizin - Alternative Medizin, , Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Obwohl der Ayurveda seit einer Reihe von Jahren auch in unseren Breiten vielen Menschen - zumindest dem Namen nach - nicht mehr unbekannt und sogar zu einem mehr oder weniger regelmäßig wiederkehrenden Thema in den Mainstream-Medien geworden ist, hat eine wirklich tiefgehende Auseinandersetzung mit dieser traditionellen indischen Heilkunde hierzulande noch kaum stattgefunden. Um so mehr freut es mich als Fachärztin für Allgemeinmedizin, die selbst über ein ayurvedisches Thema promoviert hat, dass Amrit Mitterer in ihrem vorliegenden Buch für eine vertiefte wissenschaftliche Auseinandersetzung und eine bessere Integration des Ayurveda in unser Medizinsystem plädiert. Damit dies geschehen kann, leistet die Autorin einen Beitrag, indem sie mit vielen weit verbreiteten Unklarheiten und Missverständnissen hinsichtlich dieser ernstzunehmenden Heilkunde aufräumt und erläutert, warum die vielen bei uns angebotenen Kurse und „Ausbildungen", auf deren Basis nicht nur Laien, sondern auch vielfach Heilpraktiker und Ärzte Ayurveda-Behandlungen anbieten, völlig unzureichend sind, um das hochkomplexe ayurvedische Medizinsystem auch nur annähernd zu verstehen, geschweige denn, diese Heilkunde qualifiziert ausüben zu können. Sie zeigt auf, wie ein wirklich fundiertes Studium des Ayurveda beschaffen sein muss und wo man ein solches absolvieren oder auch eine den medizinischen Standards des authentischen Ayurveda entsprechende Behandlung erhalten kann. Darüber hinaus vermittelt sie dem interessierten Leser einen ersten Einblick in verschiedene Fachgebiete der ayurvedischen Medizin, wie sie in Indien gelehrt wird. Für Mediziner kann dieses Buch ein Einstieg sein, sich vertieft mit dem Ayurveda zu beschäftigen. Laien kann es eine Hilfe sein, um unqualifizierte Behandler und „Therapien" als solche zu erkennen und sich im Bedarfsfall in einer Klinik behandeln lassen zu können, die er
