Etwa zwanzig Jahre sind seit der Erfindung der Induktions maschine vergangen. Sie hat in dieser Zeit ein großes Anwendungs gebiet gefunden und an ihrer Theorie und Konstruktion ist fleißig gearbeitet worden. Trotzdem fehlte in der Literatur bis jetzt eine vollständige Beschreibung der Induktionsmaschine. Das vorliegende Buch bezweckt, diese Lücke auszufüllen. Um das Ziel zu erreichen, war eine eingehende und selbständige Be handlung des ganzen Stoffes erforderlich, die viel Zeit in Anspruch nahm. Wir haben darauf verzichtet, eine Kritik der vorhandenen Theorien und Berechnungsmetboden zu geben, und haben das Be kannte nur so weit benutzt und erwähnt, als es sieb in die einheit liche Behandlung einfügen ließ. Viellach sind neue Wege ein geschlagen worden. Die Behandlung und die Einteilung des Stoffes sind so ge gehalten, daß sich das Buch für Studierende und Ingenieure der Praxis eignet. In erster Linie soll es ein Lehrbuch sein. Die Wirkungsweise der Induktionsmaschine wird daher eingehend unter sucht, und die erlangten Ergebnisse sind ausführlich begründet. Die für die Berechnung und die Untersuchung eines Induktions motors wichtigen Ergehnisse und Verfahren können jedoch dem Buche entnommen werden, ohne daß ein eigentliches Studium der theoretischen Kapitel erforderlich ist. Für die Entwicklung der gegebenen Theorien wurde sowohl das analytische wie das graphische Verfahren angewandt, denn das eine Mal gibt die analytische und das andere Mal die graphische Darstellung den besten Einblick in den Einfluß der Veränderung der maßgebenden Größen.
