Nach pathologisch-anatomischen Vorbemerkungen von SCHOENMACKERS bzw. SCHOEN MACKERS, DAHM, BIGALKE behandelt diesel' Teilband als zentrales Thema in einem um fangreichen Beitrag von LOOGEN/SEIPEL/GLEICHMANN und VIETEN die erworbenen Herz fehler. Es folgen, von KUHN/LoOGEN/BREITHARDT/SEIPEL und KRELHAUS bearbeitet, die Kardiomyopathien. SchlieBlich werden noch die Myokarditis und Perikarditis von GILL MANN und JUNGBLUT besprochen. Auf den genannten Gebieten sind in den letzten 10 Jahren so viele neue, auch fiir die Rontgendiagnostik wichtige Erkenntnisse gewonnen worden, daB das verhiUtnismaBig spate Erscheinen dieses Teilbandes des Handbuches del' Medizinischen Radiologie lmines wegs zu bedauern ist. Zu einem wesentlich friiheren Zeitpunkt hatten z.B. Spatergebnisse operativeI' Herzkorrekturen kaum beriicksichtigt werden konnen. Allen Autoren sei herzlich gedankt. Preface Following the appearance three years ago of the second part (b) of Volume X/2 of this handbook, we are now able to publish the first part (a). After some preliminary remarks on pathology and anatomy by SCHOENMACKERS, re spectively SCHOENMACKERS, DAHM, BIGALKE the cetral theme of this part of the volume is discussed at length by LOOGEN/SEIPEL/GLEICHMANN and VIETEN: congenital cardiac defects. This is followed first by a discussion of the cardiomyopathies by KUHN/Loo GEN/BREITHARDT/SEIPEL and KRELHAUS, and finally by a discussion of myocarditis and pericarditis by GILLMANN and JUNGBLUT.
