In besonderer Weise wendet sich das Buch an die Akteure im Feld selbst: sowohl an die direkten Technikgestalter wie Ingenieure und Wissenschaftler, die indirekten Gestalter wie Manager und Unternehmen, Verbände, aber auch die politische Ebene der staatlichen Technikpolitik in Forschungsförderung und technikrelevanter Regulierung, als auch an diejenigen, die diese Technikgestaltung reflektierend begleiten (sollen): - beteiligte Teildisziplinen der Ethik, - die Technikfolgenabschätzung und - verwandte Bereiche der Technikfolgen- und Geneseforschung From the Back Cover Im vorliegenden Buch sollen die Bedingungen der Praxisrelevanz von Ethik in der Technikgestaltung reflektiert werden. Häufig wird ethischer Reflexion vorgehalten, sie sei nur akademisch, bleibe folgenlos und erreiche nicht die technische Praxis. Kritisch gefragt wird auch nach der Legitimation, mit der Ethik normativ die Technikgestaltung beeinflussen wolle. Die Behandlung dieser Einwände erfolgt in interdisziplinärer Diskussion von Ethikern mit den an der Technikgestaltung Beteiligten aus Politik und Wirtschaft sowie mit Ingenieuren. Wesentliches Ergebnis ist, daß Ethik in der Technikgestaltung nicht in einer bloßen Belehrung aus dem philosophischen Elfenbeinturm bestehen darf, sondern sich interdisziplinär in die konkreten Bereiche hineinbegeben muß, in denen Technik faktisch gestaltet wird. Dies schließt die Befassung mit dem gesellschaftlichen Kontext ein.
