Jeder Zahnarzt sollte sich im eigenen Interesse über bestimmte Sachverhalte des Zivil-/Strafrechts informieren und Kenntnisse auf diesem Gebiet aneignen, die es ihm ermöglichen, Komplikationen in seiner Tätigkeit zu begrenzen bzw. zu vermeiden. Grundlagen und Fallbeispiele schliessen mit dem vorliegenden Buch diese seit langem bestehende Lücke. Die Beiträge zur Identifikation unbekannter Toter in Zusammenarbeit mit den Ermittlungsbehörden, die auf den Zahnarzt in Klinik und Praxis angewiesen sind, wenn ante-mortem-Behandlungsunterlagen gebraucht werden, weisen darauf hin, dass hier Verbesserungen der Qualität der Dokumentation und Befundaufzeichnung zwingend nötig sind. Zum Schluss werden Biss/Zahnspuren besprochen, die in der deutschen Fachliteratur zu wenig Beachtung finden und oft in der täglichen Praxis nicht erkannt werden. Dies verhindert, dass die zunehmende Zahl der Kindesmisshandlungen aufgeklärt und aus Mangel an Beweisen strafrechtlich verfolgt werden kann.
