Nicht allen Frauen - und natürlich auch nicht allen Männern - ist heute bewusst: Erst seit 1900 dürfen Frauen in Deutschland studieren, und erst seit 1918 ist ihnen möglich, das Wahlrecht auszuüben. Auch viele andere Ungerechtigkeiten dem weiblichen Geschlecht gegenüber gehören gottlob mittlerweile der Vergangenheit an. Am Ende des Buches stehen die Lebensläufe einiger Frauen, die sich um das Wohl der Familie, der Mütter und der Kinder verdient gemacht haben. Zu ihnen rechnet der Autor auch Barbara Stratzmann, die sage und schreibe 53 Kindern das Leben schenkte.
