Consequentemente, neste trabalho de investigação, os materiais nobres NS de Ag e Au de tamanhos e morfologias variadas foram desenvolvidos através da variação de diferentes parâmetros de reação e da adoção de materiais residuais como precursores e foram amigos do ambiente, económicos, sem solventes, sem modelos, eliminando a adição de agentes redutores e estabilizadores externos, processos facilmente reproduzíveis e escaláveis. Hoje em dia, a produção global de águas residuais tem vindo a aumentar com o desenvolvimento industrial e os principais contaminantes são os perigosos corantes orgânicos e vários compostos nitro aromáticos, pelo que é necessário adotar técnicas para a sua remediação.
