Atualmente, a preocupação com o ensino de geometria norteia os documentos que orientam o ensino de matemática na Educação Básica. Os Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais (PCN) e as Diretrizes Curriculares Estaduais de Matemática do Paraná (DCE) reforçam a importância do ensino de geometria para o desenvolvimento integral do aluno. Dentre as geometrias uma, que nos tem chamado atenção por ser considerada “recente”, porém, amplamente presente no cotidiano dos alunos é a geometria fractal. Os fractais permitem aos alunos uma melhor compreensão das formas da natureza, possibilitando a percepção de padrões geométricos, similaridade (parte-todo) e a utilização de softwares específicos, um recurso que facilita a visualização, elemento essencial na compreensão dos conceitos geométricos. Na tentativa de criar alternativas que possibilitem aos professores a abordagem da Geometria Fractais, surgiu à proposta deste estudo que traz como questão norteadora: Como introduzir os conceitos básicos de Geometria Fractal no ensino, por meio de diferentes atividades? Organizado em quatro capítulos, nos quais, aponta uma reflexão sobre o ensino desta geometria em sala de aula.
