Durante las últimas décadas, los materiales plásticos se han posicionado dentro del mercado como productos de uso cotidiano en muchos ámbitos de la vida diaria e incluso han tenido aplicaciones más demandantes dentro del área de ingeniería. Este hecho también ha traído consigo la necesidad de emplear técnicas y materiales amigables con el medio ambiente. Una alternativa viable es el empleo de fibras naturales dentro de una matriz polimérica. La mayoría de los trabajos desarrollados con fibras naturales utilizan métodos de procesamiento tradicionales como son los de extrusión, inyección y compresión. El uso de fibras naturales en rotomoldeo ha sido poco estudiado y no existe ningún trabajo previo en donde se haya empleado fibra de agave dentro del proceso. Por eso, este libro le ofrece una alternativa en la fabricación de materiales compuestos obtenidos por rotomoldeo. Así, por un lado se aprovechan los desechos agrícolas y por otro lado se modifica la estética y calidad del producto. Este es el primer trabajo en donde se obtienen materiales compuestos espumados por rotomoldeo. El proceso representa una alternativa económicamente atractiva para su implementación a nivel industrial.
