"Das Bild Österreichs in Kroatien" ist das Produkt eines mehrjährigen Aufenthaltes des Autoren in Kroatien, während dem er sich ausführlich mit Länderimageforschung beschäftigte. Ausgehend von der forschungsleitenden Frage "Welches Österreichbild liegt in Kroatien vor und wie kommt es dazu?" wurde eine Lehrwerkanalyse der wichtigsten kroatischen Deutschlehrwerke in Gymnasien, eine Medienanalyse der jeweils bedeutendsten kroatischen Tageszeitungen und Wochenmagazinen sowie eine Fragebogenerhebung bei Germanistikstudierenden an vier Universitäten Kroatiens durchgeführt. Weiters wurde dargestellt, welche Mittel Österreich selbst in Kroatien einsetzt, um für ein gewisses Österreichbild zu sorgen. In der Folge wurden all diese Untersuchungen analyisiert, in Beziehung zueinander gesetzt sowie mit persönlichen Erfahrungen des Autoren verbunden, so dass letztendlich ein überaus interessantes und differenziertes Bild von Österreich innerhalb Kroatiens eruiert werden konnte. About the Author Alexander Grubich wurde 1978 in Linz, Österreich geboren. Nach erfolgreich abgelegtem Französisch/Spanisch-Studium an der Universität Wien sowie einer DaF-Ausbildung lehrte Alexander Grubich an der Universität Rijeka, Kroatien dt. Sprache und österr. Kultur und verfasste gleichzeitig seine hier vorliegende Dissertation, die er 2008 abschloss.
