Zur Erfassung der Lebensqualität (LQ) nach Lebertransplantation (LTx) wurden die Daten von 1231 zwischen 1988 und 2005 transplantierten Patienten mittels eines leberspezifischen Lebensqualitätsfragebogen evaluiert. Der Zusammenhang zwischen der LQ und Lebensalter, Geschlecht, Indikation zur Primärtransplantation, Primär- bzw. Retransplantation, Child-Pugh-Stadium, Basis-Immunsuppression, Langzeitverlauf, Erwerbstätigkeit, Familienstand und Transplantations- oder Operationsart wurde untersucht. Folgende Kriterien beeinflussen die LQ positiv: Cholestatische Lebererkrankungen, Primärtransplantation, Immunsuppression mit Cyclosporin A, älter 40 Jahre, männliches Geschlecht und Erwerbstätigkeit. Ungünstige Einflüsse auf die LQ wurden bei viralen Zirrhosen, Retransplantierten, Alter zwischen 41-50 Jahre, weibliches Geschlecht und Tacrolimus als Immunsuppressivum festgestellt. Eine Verbesserung des Gesundheitszustandes nach LTx erreichte der Hauptteil der Patienten. Die frühzeitige Behandlung der durch die immunsuppressive Therapie mitverursachten Nebenwirkungen stellt eine wichtige Komponente zum Erhalt bzw. zur Verbesserung der LQ nach LTx dar.
