Magisterarbeit aus dem Jahr 1998 im Fachbereich Geschichte Europa - Deutschland - Nationalsozialismus, II. Weltkrieg, Note: sehr gut, Technische Universität Darmstadt, 72 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Aufgrund seiner vor 1933 gemachten programmatischen Aussagen und deren Umsetzung in die Praxis bis 1939 orientiere ich mich an der These, dass Hitler von einem "Programm" mit zwei dogmatisch fixierten „Endzielen", „Rassenherrschaft" und „Lebensraum im Osten", geleitet wurde. Als Folge des konkreten Ablaufs außenpolitischen Agierens und Reagierens war er allerdings gezwungen, mit temporären Kompromissen zu leben und Variationen zu akzeptieren. In seinem "Programm", das der Realisierung dieser Ziele galt, waren rassenideologische und machtpolitische Denkstrukturen ineinander verwoben. Auch im Falle Großbritanniens, das als "Idealpartner" eine festumrissene, wenngleich untergeordnete Funktion in Hitlers "Programm" hatte, gingen diese Komponenten eine charakteristische Synthese ein. Mit dem Überfall auf Polen am 1. September 1939 ohne Kriegserklärung "entfesselte" Hitler den europäischen Krieg. Als Folge sah er sich einer Machtkonstellation gegenüber, die seinen "programmatischen" Freund-Feind-Vorstellungen widersprach. Großbritannien, das er als "idealen" Bündnispartner zur Absicherung der Ostexpansion betrachtete, hatte dem Reich den Krieg erklärt. Zugleich befand er sich in Abhängigkeit von der Sowjetunion, deren Vernichtung das Hauptziel seines "Programms" war. Was also blieb nach dem 3. September 1939 noch übrig von der Idee Hitlers einer Partnerschaft mit England auf der Grundlage einer Interessenabgrenzung und der unterstellten gemeinsamen Abwehrhaltung gegen den „jüdisch-bolschewistischen Weltfeind"? Wie verhielt es sich mit den „rassisch wertvollen Elementen" in England, die Hitler als substantielle Basis gegen den „jüdischen Einfluß" glaubte in Rechnung stellen zu können?
