Diplomarbeit aus dem Jahr 2005 im Fachbereich Politik - Politische Systeme allgemein und im Vergleich, Note: 1,3, Universität der Bundeswehr München, Neubiberg (Institut für Pädagogik), Veranstaltung: Sozialpolitik, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: „Als junge Familie sollte man in Frankreich, als Rentner in der Bundesrepublik leben". In dieser und in anderen Aussagen werden, wie so oft im Alltag, relevante gesellschaftliche Erfahrungen mit einer augenzwinkernden Leichtigkeit so sehr auf den Punkt gebracht, dass eine wissenschaftliche Erläuterung oft kaum von Nöten scheint. Überall kann man es in Deutschland in der Zeitung lesen: Der Spiegel ängstigt mit seiner Titelgeschichte „Der letzte Deutsche", die Zeit ruft später die „Geburtenkrise" aus und der Rheinische Merkur fordert seit jeher eine neue Bevölkerungspolitik. Tatsächlich bildet die Bundesrepublik mit einer durchschnittlichen Geburtenrate von 1,29 Kindern pro Frau das Schlusslicht in Europa. Das Familienministerium geht davon aus, dass von den 1965 geborenen Frauen im Westen Deutschlands voraussichtlich 31 Prozent und im Osten 26 Prozent der Frauen kinderlos bleiben werden. Bei den Akademikerinnen liegt die Zahl noch höher. Diese Arbeit soll untersuchen, inwiefern familienpolitische Instrumente, Regelungen und die Ausgestaltung der Kinderbetreuungseinrichtungen in Deutschland geeignet sind, vor allem Frauen bei dem Wunsch zu unterstützen, Familie und Beruf zu vereinbaren. In diesem Zusammenhang wird ein direkter Vergleich mit dem Nachbarland Frankreich, dem „Pionier in der Familienpolitik", erbracht. Frankreich ist Deutschlands engster Verbündeter in Europa. Dies ist das Ergebnis eines beispiellosen Prozesses jahrzehntelanger Annäherung. Die „Erbfeindschaft" gehört der Vergangenheit an. Beide Länder versuchen, durch Austausch von Erfahrungen, sich zu unterstützen.
