Gegenstand der Arbeit ist die rechtsvergleichende Darstellung des Bankgeheimnisses in Deutschland, Luxemburg, Österreich, der Schweiz und Liechtenstein. Nach Einführung in die Geschichte und Definition des Begriffs des Bankgeheimnisses werden zunächst dessen Rechtsgrundlagen auf nationaler Ebene untersucht. Den Schwerpunkt der Arbeit bildet die Erörterung seiner Reichweite im internationalen Kontext. Dabei wird die Frage behandelt, inwieweit das Bankgeheimnis Auslandssachverhalte erfasst und wie die rechtlichen Probleme im Falle einer Kollision mit dem Recht eines anderen Staates gelöst werden können. Zudem wird die Bedeutung des Bankgeheimnisses in der internationalen Amts- und Rechtshilfe erläutert. Abschließend werden die Rechtsfolgen seiner Verletzung untersucht und eine Prognose zu seiner künftigen Entwicklung gegeben. About the Author Volker Anton studierte von 2002 bis 2007 Rechtswissenschaften an den Universitäten Trier und Lausanne. Anschließend promovierte er an der Universität Trier und arbeitete daneben bei einer luxemburgischen Investmentbank. Von 2009 bis 2011 absolvierte er sein Referendariat in Koblenz. Seit 2011 ist der Autor bei der Staatsanwaltschaft Koblenz tätig.
