Neben einem historischen Überblick über die Rezeptionsgeschichte der beiden Klassiker in Deutschland bietet die Untersuchung einen Einblick in die Besonderheiten des kinderliterarischen Übersetzens (wie den Umgang mit Tabuthemen und satirischen Elementen) und spricht grundsätzliche Übersetzungsprobleme (wie die Übertragung von Dia- und Soziolekten) an.
