Der Autor untersucht mit einem induktiv-biographischen Ansatz die spirituelle und theologische Entwicklung des französischen Benediktiners und späteren christlichen Sannyāsis Henri Le Saux/Swami Abhishiktānanda (1910-1973), der eine der wichtigsten Pioniergestalten des hinduistisch-christlichen Dialogs war. Er analysiert die persönlichen und historischen Einflüsse und arbeitet insbesondere die Identitätskonflikte heraus, welche durch das Zusammentreffen beider religiöser Welten in ihm ausgelöst wurden. Nach langen Jahren einer interreligiösen Brückenexistenz fanden die Konflikte schließlich in einer überwältigenden spirituellen Erfahrung eine Lösung. Aus seiner Darstellung und Analyse zieht der Autor Schlussfolgerungen in Richtung auf eine pluralistische Theologie der Religionen.
