In dieser Arbeit wird ein Verfahren vorgestellt, mit dessen Hilfe man die Informationsverarbeitung und die Kommunikation im Bürobereich optimal mit moderner Technik (EDV, Bürosysteme) unterstützen kann. Es werden alle wichtigen Einflußfaktoren, die die Wirtschaftlichkeit und die Durchlaufzeit von Prozessen in den Büros beeinflussen, vorgestellt, diskutiert, konkretisiert und die Zusammenhänge in einem Gesamtmodell dargestellt. Auf dieser Basis wird ein EDV-gestütztes Verfahren entwickelt, mit dessen Hilfe man optimale technische Ausstattungen ermitteln kann, wobei die beiden Ziele "Wirtschaftlichkeit" und "Durchlaufzeitreduzierung" gleichzeitig betrachtet und gegeneinander abgewogen werden können. Das Verfahren kombiniert hierbei die Methoden Optimierungsheuristik und Simulation.
