Das beschriebene System entstand auf der Basis der vorhandenen Hardware. Bei der Systemanalyse ergab sich, daB die zu losenden Aufgaben mit den uns damals zuganglichen ICU-Systemen nicht zu erfUllen waren. Dies machte eine Neuentwicklung bis auf die Systemebene hinunter notwendig. Das Ziel des Buches ist es, die entwickelten Strukturen und Algorithmen offenzulegen. Entsprechend richtet sich die Arbeit an den praxisorien tierten Medizinischen Informatiker und an die Forscher und Praktiker unter den Geburtshelfern und Perinatologen. Da das System auf einem 64 K-Byte Mikrocomputer mit 5 M-Byte Plattenlauf werk realisiert ist, sollten die Algorithmen auch auf einem der heute angebotenen Personal Computer implementiert werden konnen. Auf eine Einleitung allgemeiner und geburtshilflicher Art folgt ein kur zes Kapitel, in dem die verwendeten Gerate erlautert werden. Da ein groBer Teil der Betriebssystemsoftware selbst erstellt werden muBte, werden diese Strukturen in Kapitel 3 bis Kapitel 5 beschrieben in Kapitel 3 die Multi-Bett-Struktur, in Kapitel 4 die Erfassung und die Verwaltung der durch Dialoge erhobe nen Befunddaten und in Kapitel 5 die Erfassung und die Verwaltung der vom Rechner automatisch aufgenommenen Biosignale fetale Herzfrequenz und mUtterlicher Wehendruck. Das Kapitel 6 enthalt einen zentralen Punkt der Arbeit, die Verarbeitung der Biosignale, d.h. die Reduzierung der analogen Kurven auf Folgen von diskreten Ereignissen durch ein Rechnerprogramm. In Kapitel 7 wird die Datenwiedergabe behandelt. Dies beinhaltet die Er stellung von Arztbrief, Krankenblatt und Verlaufsblattern, sowie die Langzeitarchivierung der aufgenommenen Datensatze. Organisation und Struktur der dadurch entstehenden Dateien werden in Ka pitel 8 beschrieben.
