Description

Der Thyristor ist ein Halbleiterbauelement mit einer pnpn- Struktur, Bild I. Er vermag bei positiver Spannung zwi- schen der auBeren p-Zone (Anode) und der auBeren n-Zone (Kathode) zwei stabile Zustande anzunehmen, einen sperren- den und einen leitenden. Seine Strom-Spannungs-Kennlinie, Bild II, weist dementsprechend bei dieser Polaritat einen Sperrbereich und einen DurchlaBbereich auf. Diese Eigen- schaft wird zum Schalten von Strom ausgenutzt. Urn den Thyristor vom sperrenden in den leitenden Zustand zu bringen, muB der Strom grundsatzlich tiber einen gewis- sen Schwellwert angehoben werden. Das geschieht normaler- weise durch einen Strompuls, der tiber den SteueranschluB (Gate) in eine der beiden inneren Zonen eingepragt wird. Eine andere Moglichkeit besteht z.B. darin, die Anoden- spannung so weit zu steigern, daB die Kippspannung (U ) BO tiberschritten wird, Bild IIa.
