Jahrhunderts eröffnen die geopolitischen und strategischen Perspektiven des 1985 verstorbenen Staats- und Völkerrechtlers Carl Schmitt neue Möglichkeiten des Verstehens einer sich wandelnden Welt.Die Grundlagen dieser Studie bilden wichtige Teile des Spätwerkes von Carl Schmitt, die bislang in der Sekundärliteratur nahezu vollständig vernachlässigt wurden. Unter Hinzuziehung bislang unveröffentlichter Materialien aus dem Carl Schmitt-Nachlaß wird die Bedeutung des interdisziplinär angelegten Gesamtwerkes von Carl Schmitt im Hinblick auf heutige sicherheitspolitische und strategische Fragestellungen und Herausforderungen untersucht.Im Zentrum stehen dabei eine Bewertung der aktuellen sicherheitspolitischen Lage, eine Auswertung des inneren Zusammenhangs von Politik und der Projektion militärischer Macht in Theorie und Praxis, die Analyse von zu erwartenden Veränderungen der Herrschafts- und Raumordnungen im internationalen System sowie die Frage nach der Begrenzbarkeit von Gewalt unter den Bedingungen unserer Zeit. Der Autor zeigt im Ergebnis das kritische Potential geopolitischer, technologischer und strategischer Entwicklungen auf und zieht Konsequenzen für deutsche Außen- und Sicherheitspolitik. "(...)
