Der vorliegende Band Simulation als betriebliche Entscheidungshilfe dient diesem Ziel. In jüngster Zeit sind Fortschritte der Systemsimulation vor allem In folgenden Bereichen zu beobachten: • Planspiele Das Verhalten der Systeme, mit denen sich die Betriebswirtschaft beschäftigt, wird fortwährend komplexer und damit umso schwerer verstehbar und voraussagbar. Planspiele sind ein ausgezeichnetes Hilfsmittel, um Anwender zu schulen und ihnen am Modell Erfahrungen in Umgang mit dem System zu vermitteln. • Optimierung Die Optimierung im klassischen Sinn hat sich bisher auf die Parameteroptimierung konzentriert. Die Systemstrukturen wurden hierbei als nicht modifizierbar angesehen. Ein neuer Zugang beschäftigt sich mit der Frage, welche System strukturen für eine gegebene AufgabensteIlung die optimalen sind. • Tools Die Simulationstechnik bietet neue Verfahren und Methoden, die den Modellaufbau und die Modelbedienung deutlich erleichtern. Hierzu zählen z.B. Arbeitsumgebun gen, die einen vollständigen Werkzeugsatz für alle Funktionen enthalten, die für ein Modellprojekt erforderlich sind. Ein weiterer Fortschritt ist auf dem Gebiet der Modellspezifikation zu verzeichnen. Petri-Netze, der objektorientierte Ansatz und Modellspezifikation auf systemtheore tischer Grundlage ringen um Anerkennung. Zugleich befruchten sie sich gegenseitig. • Anwendungen Die Anwendungsgebiete der Simulation sind sehr vielseitig. Von besonderer Bedeutung sind Aufgaben aus Fertigung und Prozeßplanung sowie Verkehrsplanung und Logistik.
