In Germany, hatha yoga is a method for behavior-related prevention recognized by the National Association of Health Insurance Funds (GKV) under certain qualifying conditions. As a relaxation method, it aims to prevent or reduce physical and psychological states of tension. The book "Hatha-Yoga pro Gesundheit" starts with the historical roots, incorporates health science backgrounds and represents a modern interdisciplinary understanding. It is dedicated to the life and work of the health educator, Indologist and philosopher Rocque Lobo (1941 2019). From the traditional Indian Hatha-Yoga and the Indian medicine Ayurveda, Lobo developed the Marma-Yoga®, which promotes the physical self-regulation on a scientific basis and is thus geared to our current living conditions in the context of acceleration and stress. Experts who apply this view of yoga in different settings will have their say, as well as leading representatives of salutogenesis.
