Young professionals in psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine often have to lead groups without being trained to do so. This textbook teaches the basics of group therapy based on the Göttingen model. This concept, which has been continuously developed for forty years, works with diverse forms of groups and makes reference to the special interactional character within the group. Corresponding modifications of group therapy have been developed.
