Dafür muss der mittlerweile klisch gewordene Sleumer gelten. Die zur Verfügung stehenden Mittellateinischen Lexika sind in der Regel sehr umfangreich und gelehrt und deshalb wesentlich nur für den Philologen, aber weniger für die Praxis verwendbar. Jeder, der ein Handlexikon zu dem im Titel genannten Bereich des Wörterbuches sucht, vor allem die Theologen beider Konfessionen, aber auch die an der Geschichte dieses Zeitraumes Interessierten sowie die Fachhistoriker, werden sich der Hilfe dieses Bandes gern bedienen.****************Albert Sleumer's Kirchenlateinisches Wörterbuch fills a gap in the study of later Christian Latin literature, especially since German speaking scholars lacked both a work comparable to Blaise's Dictionnaire Latin-Français des Auteurs Chrétiens and a handy dictionary which goes beyond the material included in Blaise's work. Sleumer's dictionary has thus become a clic. The available Medieval Latin dictionaries are as a rule very extensive and scholarly and of use more to the scholar than in practical work. The reprint of this volume will be welcomed by all interested in the field, especially theologians of all confessions, but also by students of the Middle Ages and Church historians.
