Jeder Band ist in sich abgeschlossen, alle Bände gemeinsam decken das ganze Gebiet der Wirtschaftsinformatik ab. Die Titel und die Abgrenzungen der einzelnen Bände orientieren sich an typischen Lehrveranstaltungen, wie sie an den Hochschulen im deutschsprachigen Raum häufig anzutreffen sind. Renommierte Experten aus der Wissenschaft vermitteln die zentralen Themen der Wirtschaftsinformatik: die methodischen und technologischen Grundlagen - Unternehmensdatenbanken, Informationsmanagement, Entwicklung von Informationssystemen - genauso wie die Anwendungen in wichtigen Wirtschaftszweigen. Die zunehmende Elektronisierung von Wirtschaft und Verwaltung wird dabei natürlich besonders berücksichtigt.
