Der Kommentar liefert technische Erläuterungen und ergänzende Hintergrundinformationen zu den neuen Teilen 2 und 4 der DIN EN 1090 "Ausführung von Stahltragwerken und Aluminiumtragwerken". Aus dem vollständig überarbeiteten Teil 2 der DIN EN 1090 ging der neue Teil 4 hervor, der sich umfassend mit den technischen Anforderungen an tragende, dünnwandige, kaltgeformte Bauelemente und Bauteile aus Stahl befasst. Die Anforderungen der beiden Norm-Teile werden abschnittsweise erläutert und durch Beispiele aus der Praxis veranschaulicht. Neben der Verzahnung mit den Eurocodes geht es bei der Kommentierung auch um baurechtliche Implikationen bei der Anwendung in Deutschland und Europa, um internationale Zusammenhänge (z. B. nationale Vorworte in anderen Ländern) sowie um ingenieurhistorische Bezüge.
