Tourism industry is one of the most important economic sectors of Uzbekistan.Currently, in Uzbekistan if a tourist would like to explore tourist attractions, he needs to find information about them in the tourist guidebooks or hire a tourist guide. This process of obtaining information can be realized by an augmented reality smartphone application in a simply way without much effort. Therefore, this project focuses on creating an android-based mobile augmented reality application for tourists of Uzbekistan. On the one hand, the project contributes to the tourism industry of Uzbekistan by providing a mobile AR application prototype. On the other hand, it presents a few scenarios and use-cases of mobile AR in the context of tourism and offers a concept and ready-to-use architectural design for implementation of mobile augmented reality applications for android platform.
