Description

La interacción de fotones con la materia es de total interés en áreas de la Física Médica como radioterapia, radiodiagnóstico, protección radio-lógica, etc, ya que se debe cuantificar la cantidad de energía depositada por fotones ionizantes en la región irradiada. La medición se puede realizar de manera directa con detectores. También de manera indirecta, por ejemplo, con simulación Monte Carlo. Sin embargo, la simulación Monte Carlo suele ser temporal y computacionalmente costosa, ya que se tienen que simular los procesos involucrados como son: Rayleigh, Compton, fotoeléctrico y producción de pares por lo menos. Sin embargo, se sabe que la interacción más tardada en simular es el proceso Compton debido a que ésta no aniquila al fotón solo lo desvía y continua la simulación. Por lo que el objetivo de este trabajo es comparar la velocidad y precisión de los distintos métodos existentes para realizar el muestreo de los ángulos de dispersión polar (AP) y azimutal (AA) para el Compton y proponer una nueva metodología más rápida para el muestreo de los ángulos mencionados.
